Instructions for participating in intensive courses:
You need to sign up in advance by e-mail to info.bailamas72@gmail.com The places are filled in order of enrollment.
You need to sign up no later than 5 days before the course. The course will be cancelled if there are not enough people who have signed up before the deadline.
You can pay in advance to the bank account of BailaMás, Myrskylän Säästöpankki Fi83 4210 0010 1168 10. Bring a copy of the payment to the course. You can also pay by MobilePay or in cash, but please try to have the exact amount with you.
If you cannot come, please cancel at least 3 days before the course so you don’t risk having to pay for the course.
Leave your name, address, phone number and e-mail when you sign up. If the course is cancelled we will let you know at least one day before the course.

ROLY GONZÁLEZ will have a bachata intensive course on Saturday 18th January 2025, beginners from 12:30 to 14.00 and improvers from 14.00 to 15:30 at restaurant Shamrock (upstairs), Peltolantie 2, 01300 Tikkurila, Vantaa. Welcome aboard!
Bachata is a wonderfully romantic couple dance from the Dominican Republic. It is often played in Latin parties between salsa and reggaeton. Nowadays, it is played to an increasing extent also in social dancing places, where Vili Mustalampi and other Latin bands have made it known.
Come and dive with us into the wonderful world of couple bachata! No problem if you haven’t danced before, because we’ll start part 1 from the beginning, with the basic steps. So if you are new to bachata or you want to refresh your basics, then come to both parts. If you have some experience already, you can come straight to the second part.
Roly teaches in Finnish, English and Spanish.
We change couples (optional) frequently in the course, so you can also come without a partner.

BASICS OF CUBAN SON, intensive course, beginners

Son is the “mother” of salsa. This Cuban dance and music genre was born in Eastern Cuba in the late 19th century. It reached Havana in the early 20th century and soon took over the entire island.
Son is more easygoing than salsa and there are less turns and figures than in salsa. Other major differences are the rhythm of the steps and body movements.
In this course we will practice the basics of son: steps, rhythm, simple figures, leading and following.

BODY RHYTHM WORKSHOP 1+2 with Vili Mustalampi, intensive course from 12.30 to 15.30
Have you ever dreamed of learning Cuban rhythms? Or are you a dancer and would like to understand more about the music you dance to?
Now it is possible in the Cuban body rhythm workshop led by Vili Mustalampi. In the course, the rhythms of the instruments of Cuban son and salsa music are made by playing with one’s own body.
There will be two workshops: The first one is for those who feel that they are still at the beginning of the secrets of salsa or who want to repeat the basics. The second one is suitable for those who have already taken Vili’s basic course and have a dance or music background. If you are familiar with the clave rhythm, feel free to join in!
In the first two hours, we will go over the basics (clave and basic bass comp) and in the second workshop we will learn the basic rhythms of other son and salsa music instruments such as maracas, guitar and tres. The dance steps are included in the exercises, so your connection between music and dance will deepen even more.
The best thing is that you don’t need to bring an instrument, let alone know how to play it! We will do all the exercises using our own body.
This workshop will be helpful also if you sometimes have difficulties in finding the number one, or if you want to know whether to dance son or salsa.
Vili Mustalampi is known as an artist publishing Finnish Latin music and he is also the principal of the Rumba Academy, a music school specializing in Cuban music.
Vili will give two two-hour rhythm workshops, Beginners’ level at 12:15 and Improvers’ level at 14.30. The number of participants is limited in order to guarantee the quality of teaching and also allow for individual guidance.

To Cubans salsa is about having fun and that really shows in Roly’s teaching. Everybody goes home from Roly’s lessons with a big smile on their face – come and experience it yourself!
• We will start from scratch, so you don’t worry, you will make it!
• You don’t need a couple of your own
• Voluntary exchange of couples, which makes learning easy and smooth. If you wish, you can of course dance only with your partner.
